Medusa is a goddess of strength, protection, and ferocity. How she came to be the Gorgon we know her as has a few contradictions all depending on who’s telling the story. Whether Athena’s motives were of punishment for Medusa’s part -unwillingly- in the defiling of her temple or as a way for Medusa to be able to protect herself from any unwanted advances, only they know.

What we do know is that she has become a symbol for so many of reclamation of self and your own power. She stands fiercely in who she is and the power she holds and welcomes you to do the same.
